Identity and Social Responsibility Discussion Images
This resource includes visual stimulus to engage students and can be used in a variety of ways. Each image has specific questions that will support deeper understanding of the topic and will stimulate discussion and debate as well as further study. These questions allow students to reflect on how people put their beliefs into action and the impact this can have on themselves and others. This resource will allow students to express their own views, to ask questions and to discover connections between different opinions and approaches to this topic. This activity will also allow students to reflect on their personal responses. This activity is designed to be discussion based, although written responses to the questions can be a key way to assess progress. It can work well as teacher led class discussion, paired discussion or as an individual task.
This resource is an e-resource which can be downloaded and printed or displayed on the IWB and on student’s electronic devices.

Exploring Identity and Purpose: TED Talks
This resource consists of five TED Talks. Each Ted Talk includes activities that will support the topic of Identity and Purpose. Each TED Talk has information, key vocabulary and tasks based on each individual’s perspective and experience. Each TED Talk has suggested activities that are specific to that TED Talk and can be used to develop further understanding of the topic. The activities include a variety of specific questions, activities to engage students and further key information. This TED Talk e-resource is a discussion based resource which can be a teacher-led class discussion, in smaller groups or as an individual reflective, assessment task. This resource can be displayed on IWB, student’s electronic devices or printed and laminated for use as a table top activity.

U:NIQUE Magazine e-booklet
This resource provides students with the opportunity to discuss issues related to their identity and uniqueness. The U:NIQUE e-booklet contains articles that will generate discussion around this topic. There are articles from young people who have had contact with the Message Trust and who talk openly about the different struggles they have faced with the issue of identity and how they have dealt with these. There are also articles from an ex –offender and an Olympic Paralympian, who both share their experiences of finding their true identity and what identity means to them. This resource also contains brief overviews of biblical characters whose identity was changed when they experienced a defining moment in their life. There are eight worksheets that can be used independently or alongside the U:NIQUE Magazine. These worksheets can be used to support class discussion or as homework and assessment tasks.
